Bring to life visually the project designs, construction processes and urban design and landscaping plans for community and stakeholders.
North East Link is being built in built-up urban areas, with limited road reserve. Some works are very close to homes and businesses. The team are committed to engaging the community and stakeholders in constructive and co-operative dialogue based on mutual trust and respect.
Spatial Media has supported the North East Link project and Spark Consortium in visualising the evolving designs in our Spatial Reality Interactive 3D model platform and high quality visual renders. Our bespoke software enables community to move around the project in a virtual environment, travel the new routes, toggle different weather conditions, time of day and options.
The 6.5km North EastLink tunnels from Watsonia to Bulleen will fix the missing link in Melbourne’s city’s freeway network, take 15,000 trucks off local roads a day and reduce travel times by up to 35 minutes. The project team sought Spatial Media’s expertise to tell the story of how the tunnel boring machine (TBM) and the massive 550-tonne gantry crane that were being built – would be put together before the TBM’s start their journey underground. Powerful world class animations were delivered unveiling the site set up and TBM assembly as well as road changes in the project area.
