Improve the efficiency of communicating construction impacts to the community by creating digital workflows that are faster, cheaper and better for the environment than the traditional methods.
Spatial Media in collaboration with John Holland Group created the first digital construction portal. We designed a custom map editor that enable the project team to make digital maps of the work activities happening on the project. By augmenting the map with specific information for each disruption such as time, impacts and type of work the project team could create dynamic and fast notifications for stakeholders. Building an internal approvals workflow helped the contractor and TfNSW manage the notifications publication.
Spatial Media also buit in features such as print to PDF and integration with Consultation Manager meant the project team could also create distribution lists and send EDM's of upcoming works to specific impacted stakeholders. An auto archiving feature meant that old notices are always available to be searched by users. All the work notices were published to an interactive map where users could search for address or project location to find the work activities relevant to them.
This ground breaking solution has now been rolled out on many other construction projects and considered to be best practice in communicating disruption and construction activities on complex projects
