Insights from EnergyFest 2025

Spatial Media joined EnergyFest 2025, celebrating clean energy innovation, community collaboration, and Australia’s journey toward a net-zero future by 2050.

EnergyFest 2025 proved just how strong the collective optimism is for a clean energy future. Hosted by some of the brightest thinkers, builders, and innovators in the energy sector, EnergyFest was filled with thought provoking conversations about how we can reach Australia’s renewable energy goal of net zero by 2050.

At EnergyFest we couldn’t help but notice the genuine and ongoing theme for the importance of community engagement and getting the narrative right. Early and authentic collaboration with local communities ensures that renewable energy projects not only deliver clean power, but also real social benefits with lasting impact. As specialists in digital engagement, we know that strong relationships with communities and stakeholders are as important as the technology itself.

Wednesday night kicked off with the global premiere of ‘Planet Sun’, the latest film from Andy and Syk Flyk. A powerful and thought provoking global tale of humanity's relationship with the sun highlighting innovation, history and just how important this source is to us all. The Madagascar scene was a highlight showing just how vital solar is and how grateful we should be with access to electricity and power.

University students and recent graduates spoke passionately about their desire to make an impact in the industry now and not years down the track. Our team was inspired to see so many young people in one place who are driven by purpose, frustrated by slow progress, and eager to contribute to Australia’s clean energy transformation.

Nicole Vaughan, Client Project Manager at Spatial Media, had the pleasure of speaking in two sessions presenting our ideas, inspiration and importance for the industry in ‘Visualising the Future of Energy’ Thursday and ‘Workforce’ panel Friday along respected leaders in the field. We’d like to thank everyone who contributed to or listened in on the sessions.

EnergyFest was far from the norms of your average conference and even had everyone energised and grooving to guest DJ sets from The Bag Raiders and The Jungle Giants courtesy of Untitled Group to round the event out.

Huge congratulations and thank you to Andy Evans and the team for curating the unique event that is EnergyFest. We were delighted to be a part of the inaugural one and can't wait to see it grow.

I would strongly recommend them

We have engaged Spatial Media to deliver digital marketing on multiple projects across multiple states and the results have been nothing short of excellent. The broad praise from all who view their video productions is unanimous and highly complementary. The collaboration with the client to ensure content is both relevant and accurate is a hallmark of the service and for anyone requiring this very specialised service I would strongly recommend them as representing both value and spectacular outcome.

They look tremendous, the team have done amazing work!

Our booth was very popular - the imagery and corflute poster was so incredible to point at our ideas, even at a concept level. Well done to the Spatial Media team!

Airside Driving Simulator an important part of the training program

It can be storming outside. It could be night time. Any time of the day or night we can create these simulations. It’s very flexible.

Their responsiveness and flexibility was very well received.

Spatial Media delivered visualisation services brought the concept design to life. Their work was instrumental in communicating the complex design elements to stakeholders and ultimately the broader community. From the outset, Spatial Media demonstrated a deep understanding of infrastructure visualisation requirements, proactively engaging with our engineers and project managers to refine inputs and ensure accuracy. The teams ability to incorporate feedback quickly and collaborative approach made the process seamless and efficient.

Innovative tools developed by the team set a new benchmark

Spatial Media Team played a pivotal role in delivering a range of multi-million-dollar public realm projects, including cycle paths, road and intersection upgrades, and active reserve improvements. Their ability to produce highly detailed and realistic renders, actively participate in workshops, and rapidly refine designs (even with minimal background information) was exceptional. The level of professionalism and attention to detail they provided to the council as the client was truly outstanding. I have already recommended their services to colleagues across the State and look forward to future collaborations. The innovative 3D products and interactive spatial consultation tools developed by the team set a new benchmark for community engagement and project delivery. I would strongly encourage integrating this approach into future projects to enhance clarity, mitigate risks, and build greater confidence among all stakeholders.
