Spatial Media is delighted to announce the launch of its new interactive portal, Generation for Generations, an interactive portal that brings to life Australia’s planned renewable investment aimed at securing the nation’s clean energy.

“As Australia transitions to a net-zero clean energy future, projects are taking shape nationwide. Billions of dollars have been invested in generation, storage, and transmission for wind, solar, pumped hydro, offshore wind, and new technologies such as wave energy and more are on the way,” said Spatial Media’s Jai Eakin.

Generations for Generations showcases the best technologies, tools, and resources for supporting stakeholder and community engagement strategies.

With a limited public understanding of renewables projects and technologies, projects often located in areas of natural beauty and misinformation about the suitability of renewables to support a clean energy future, renewables projects need to work harder to foster engagement than other infrastructure projects.

“With complex projects in remote and rural settings, community and stakeholder engagement will be key to public acceptance and support for new renewables and transmission projects. How projects interact with the landscape and connect with infrastructure, as well as concerns over noise and impacts on flora and fauna, effective community engagement will reduce concerns, counter misinformation, and help our move to clean renewable energy.”

“We created Generations for Generations to show what’s possible when visualising renewable energy projects. With immersive digital technologies, sophisticated visualisations, interactive maps, feedback and engagement tools available to stakeholder management professionals, the opportunity to connect with communities to gain buy-in has never been greater,” said Eakin.

An interactive map of key projects and Renewable Energy Zones has been created to highlight the projects set to power the clean energy future.

“The interactive map shows the location and key project information compiled from industry data. Each project can be examined in detail, and users can add and remove layers to highlight project categories, power generation types, transmission lines, and renewable energy zones,” noted Eakin

Users can also take an interactive tour of major initiatives in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia, Queensland and Tasmania and explore offshore wind in the Bass Strait and North Queensland’s energy boom.

“We’re passionate about supporting renewables projects and helping engagement professionals connect with their stakeholders and communities through digital engagement strategies and resources that enhance storytelling and support community-based approaches,” added Eakin.

“Community engagement will be vital to our ambitions and goals to transition to a clean energy future powered by renewable energy projects. The key to success will be gaining community acceptance and support through best-practice stakeholder engagement and management approaches,” said Eakin.
